Hiroshige was the final and greatest ukiyo-e artist of Edo period, Japan. His last work, One Hundred Famous Views of Edo, took Hokusai's landscape art to a new level and freely applied perspective and deformation. The series vividly portrays the cityscape and life of Edo, which was one of the largest cities in the world.
