Shri Ram Charit Manas. Epic poem in Awadhi, composed by the 16th-century Indian poet, Goswami Tulsidas. Tuslidas began every chapter with an invocation because he believed that reading, and indeed the writing, of the story of Ram required the right frame of mind, and also the divine assistance of god. There are five kand's. 1) Bal Kand. 2) Ayodhya Kand. 3) Aranya Kand.
