The Road traversing the Denominazione dei Vini DOC and DOCG area describes the lands where the great red wines of Valtellina are produced. In Valchiavenna and Valtellina there are numerous prehistoric and historical remains: from rock engravings to castles and stately homes in urban centres and numerous sanctuaries that stand symbolically in a sea of vines.
